Adding, Editing, and Deleting a SharePoint Calendar Event

SharePoint is one of Microsoft's collaboration tools. SharePoint provides a virtual collaboration space for a project, a team, an event, or other activity. One feature of SharePoint is the calendar. The calendar feature makes it easy for teams to track deadlines, activities, launch dates, and team availability. Use the description below to assist you in accessing a SharePoint calendar.
Accessing a SharePoint Calendar
Complete the following steps to open a SharePoint calendar.
- Open a web browser and navigate to the URL of your SharePoint calendar. You will be prompted to log in.
- Enter your full USC email address.
- Place the cursor in the password field. The Office 365 site will attempt to locate your account, generally without entering your password. A secondary username and password prompt display.
- Enter your username in the User Name field.
- Enter your password in the Password field.
- Select OK. The SharePoint calendar displays.
Repeat these steps to open a SharePoint calendar.
Adding an Event to a SharePoint Calendar
Complete the following steps to add an event to a SharePoint calendar.
- After navigating to the SharePoint calendar and logging into the site, place your mouse cursor in the lower right corner of a date square. The +Add option displays.
- Select +Add. The Calendar - New Item screen displays.
- Enter the specifics of your meeting. The required fields are denoted with an asterisk.
- After entering the meeting specifics, select the Save option. The new calendar event is added to the calendar.
Repeat these steps to add additional items to the calendar.
Editing or Deleting an Event on a SharePoint Calendar
Complete the following steps to edit or delete an event on a SharePoint calendar.
- After navigating to the SharePoint calendar and logging into the site, double-click the event you want to edit. The calendar event displays.
- Select Edit Item on the calendar event. The edit options display.
- From this screen, you can edit the meeting details or delete the event.
- When you have finished adjusting the meeting details, select the Save option.
Repeat these steps to edit or delete a calendar event.
