Navigating the OneDrive for Business Web Interface

OneDrive for Business for the Web offers internet access to the files that your store within OneDrive for Business. This means that you can access your files anywhere there is an internet connection.
To begin working with OneDrive for Business, navigate to http://dornsife.usc.edu/365. You will be prompted to log in with your Dornsife email address and the corresponding password. Enter your credentials and log into Microsoft Outlook Web Access.
Use the screen options to complete the following actions.

New: Select the New option to create a new file or folder within OneDrive for Business for the Web.

Upload: Select the Upload option to upload a file from your computer or external storage drive.

Sync: Select the Sync option to synchronize OneDrive for Business for the Web with your workstation or mobile device.

Edit: Select the Edit option to edit a document you have already uploaded to OneDrive for Business. You can edit this document online or on your work station.

Manage: Select the Manage option to display the Manage menu. The Manage menu provides the ability to work with files that you have already saved to OneDrive for Business.

Share: Select the Share option to display the Share menu. The Share menu provides the ability to invite individuals to edit and/or view the file(s) or folder(s) you have stored within OneDrive for Business. The invitation to view or edit files is sent via email.
Use these on-screen options to upload files to or edit files within OneDrive for Business for the Web.
Working with OneDrive for Business for the Web Options
Once you have successfully logged into Microsoft Outlook Web Access, you can begin working with your OneDrive for Business storage space. Documents is the default display option for OneDrive when accessed via a web browser. There are six (6) total display options within OneDrive when accessed via a web browser. The display options are located and accessed on the left side of the screen.

The Recent option displays a listing of files with which you have recently
edited or added.
Shared
The Shared option displays a listing of files that have been shared with you via OneDrive for Business.
Discover
The Discover option displays files that are trending in your organization.
Recycle bin
The Recycle bin option displays a listing of the files and folders you have recently deleted from your OneDrive for Business storage space.
Use these options as is appropriate.
Working with Documents Options in OneDrive for Business
The Documents screen within your OneDrive for Business storage space is the place from which you will work with the files you have already stored in OneDrive for Business or where you will upload a new file. The menu, located near the top of the Documents screen, provides access to the different functions available within OneDrive for Business.
Use the menu options to work with your OneDrive for Business storage and files.

New ( )
The New option provides the ability to create a new file within OneDrive for Business. You can create a new folder or a new Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, or Excel survey) document. Selecting one of the Microsoft Office document types launches the online version of that product. You do not need to be on a computer that has Microsoft Office installed in order to create one of these file types.
Upload ( )
The Upload option provides the ability to upload an existing file to your OneDrive for Business storage space. Selecting this option launches a Browse window. Locate the item you want to upload and select the file. The file is uploaded to OneDrive for Business.
Sync ( )
The Sync option triggers a manual syncing process between OneDrive for Business in the cloud and your computer. New files that exist in your OneDrive for Business library on your computer will be uploaded to the cloud. New files that exist in the cloud will be downloaded to your OneDrive for Business library on your computer.
Share ( )
The Share option provides the ability to select an individual file and share it through OneDrive for Business with a person in your organization.
More ( )
Selecting the More option displays a drop-down menu. However, the More option is only available for selection when an individual file is highlighted.
The top two options correspond to the type of files that is highlighted when you select the More option. If the file is a Word file, the opens will display as in the picture above. If the file is an Excel workbook, the options displayed will correspond to Microsoft Excel. You can also select the Download option, which will download a copy of the file to your computer.
The Share option provides the ability to share the selected file with a person within your organization. Next, you can Rename, Delete, Move or copy, view the Version History, or view the Properties of the file by selecting the corresponding option.
Selecting the Advanced option displays a sub-menu that contains three options.
Select Check Out to check out a copy of the file for editing. When you have finished editing the file, right-click on the name of the file in OneDrive for Business and check the file back into OneDrive for Business.
Select the Follow option to follow updates on a particular file. This feature is especially useful for shared files.
Select the Workflows option to view a workflow for a select file.
