Overview
This guide goes over the steps for re-assigning a Zoom meeting to a new host. Since this method does not require deleting and recreating the Zoom meeting, this method may be particularly helpful if you are trying to transfer ownership of Brightspace-generated Zoom class meetings.
Re-assigning a Zoom meeting to a new host
Quick guide
First, have the original host perform these steps:
- Sign in to https://usc.zoom.us.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page. Under "Schedule Privilege," click on the + icon next to Assign scheduling privilege to.
- Type the new host's USC email address.
- Click on Assign.
Now, the new host must perform these steps:
- Sign out and then back in to https://usc.zoom.us.
- In Meetings, hover over the meeting to be transferred and click on Edit.
- (If you are transferring a recurring meeting) Click on Edit All Occurrences.
- Scroll down to "Schedule For" and click on the current host's name to open the dropdown.
- Click on Myself.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save.
Finally, the original host must perform these steps:
- Sign out and then back in to https://usc.zoom.us.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click on the x next to the new host's USC email address to remove scheduling privileges.

First, have the original host perform these steps:
- Sign in to https://usc.zoom.us.
- Click on Settings.

- Scroll to the bottom of the page. Under "Schedule Privilege," click on the + icon next to Assign scheduling privilege to.

- Type the new host's USC email address.
- Click on Assign.

Now, the new host must perform these steps:
- Sign out and then back in to https://usc.zoom.us.
- In Meetings, hover over the meeting to be transferred and click on Edit.

- (If you are transferring a recurring meeting) Click on Edit All Occurrences.

- Scroll down to "Schedule For" and click on the current host's name to open the dropdown.

- Click on Myself.

- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save.
Finally, the original host must perform these steps:

- Click on Settings.

- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click on the x next to the new host's USC email address to remove scheduling privileges.
