DTS on-campus operations beginning August 16
Starting Monday, August 16, 2021, Dornsife Technology Services is back on campus! Please review the information below regarding Help Desk appointment scheduling and our return-to-campus IT tips.
For any questions, you can submit a ticket to our Help Desk or start a chat with us (red droplet-shaped icon in the bottom right corner of this page).
Appointments
Remote appointments
For everyone’s convenience and safety, DTS continues to offer remote appointments by default (e.g. remote troubleshooting, phone calls, Zoom calls).
In-person appointments
For problems that cannot be resolved remotely, DTS is offering two types of in-person appointments on an as-needed basis:
- Appointments for a technician to come to your office
- Available beginning Aug 16
- If your Help Desk ticket or issue cannot be resolved remotely, our technicians are available by appointment to resolve your issue on-site at your office
- Appointments for you to visit the DTS office (limited availability)
- Available beginning Aug 23
- Please note that we can only accommodate one scheduled visitor to the DTS office at a time, and we are unable to accommodate walk-ins
For both types of in-person appointments, we will provide further instructions when we confirm your appointment.
IT tips for your return to campus
Desktop computers
Plan on extra time for computers (and other office equipment) to restart and install updates. This could take at least an hour, depending on when the computer was last turned on or updated.
Printers
We highly recommend printing a test page to your office printer to make sure your printer is up and running. In some cases you may need to replace printer cartridges/toner—if the printer is having difficulty recognizing the replacement cartridge, you may need to double check that the replacement isn't expired.
Battery-powered equipment
You may need to replace the batteries in any wireless keyboard/mouse or other battery-powered equipment.
E-waste
If you have old, malfunctioning, or otherwise unneeded IT equipment that has accrued in your office during this time and which you would like to recycle, you can schedule an appointment for e-waste pick-up or drop-off:
