Overview
The Zoom for Outlook add-in enables you to generate new Zoom meetings easily on Outlook calendar events, is installed by default on all USC Outlook accounts. If the Zoom for Outlook add-in doesn't show up when you create an Outlook calendar event—or it has stopped working and you want to try re-installing it—try the instructions below.
Note about Zoom add-in and Safari issues
We've received reports from users of not being able to use the Zoom add-in in Safari. Our recommendation is to use another browser such as Firefox or Chrome.
Installing the Zoom for Outlook add-in
Follow the instructions below to install the Zoom add-in using Outlook for Web/365/OWA (online). Once installed, the Zoom for Outlook add-in will be available the next time you restart Outlook, whether it's Outlook for Web or Outlook client on your Windows PC or MAc.
Quick guide
- Log in to your Outlook account at https://usc.edu/office365.
- Click on New message.
- A new message panel appears. At the bottom of the message, click on the […] icon.
- Click on Get Add-ins.
- In the left-side menu, select Admin-managed.
- Locate Zoom for Outlook and click on Add.
- Click on Continue.
- Once Zoom has been successfully added (typically within seconds), you can close the "Get started with Zoom" window. Now, the next time you restart Outlook, the Zoom for Outlook add-in shows up when you create a new Outlook calendar event. You're all set!
Detailed guide (with screenshots)
- Log in to your Outlook account at https://usc.edu/office365.
- The Shibboleth login page displays. Log in using your USC credentials.

- The Duo screen displays. Follow the on-screen prompt to complete authentication.

- In the upper left side of the screen, click on New message.

- A new message panel appears. At the bottom of the message, click on the […] icon.

- Click on Get Add-ins.

- The Add-ins window opens. In the left-side menu, select Admin-managed.

- Locate Zoom for Outlook and click on Add.

- Click on Continue.

- Once Zoom has been successfully added (typically within seconds), you can close the "Get started with Zoom" window. Now, the next time you restart Outlook, the Zoom for Outlook add-in shows up when you create a new Outlook calendar event. You're all set!

Uninstalling the Zoom for Outlook add-in
If the Zoom for Outlook add-in shows up as already installed when you go to the Get Add-ins page, you can uninstall it by clicking on the […] icon and selecting Remove. Once you do so, you can try installing the add-in again following our instructions above.
