Overview
Follow our guide below to screenshare using the Zoom app from an iPad or even an iPhone.
Before you begin: Zoom app required
Make sure that you have the Zoom app installed on your iPad or iPhone, and that you are logged into your USC Zoom account. If you are using a Dornsife-managed device, the Zoom app is already installed.
Screensharing from an iPad/iPhone in a Zoom meeting
Follow these steps to screenshare from an iPad/iPhone during a Zoom meeting.
Quick guide
On your iPad/iPhone:
- Open the Zoom app.
- Tap Join and type the Zoom meeting ID.
- Tap Share Content. Select Screen(or another option) from the dropdown.
- Note: If you are trying to share the enhanced whiteboard, then instead of "Share Content," tap More and select Whiteboards - New from the dropdown.
- Tap Start Broadcast.
- The screenshare begins. Tap the home button or swipe up to return to your Home screen, and then choose the app you want to share.
- Once you are done sharing, return to the Zoom app (go to your Home screen and tap Zoom).
- Tap Stop Share.
Screensharing from an iPad/iPhone in a Zoom Room
Quick guide
On your iPad/iPhone:
- Open the Zoom app.
- Tap Share Screen.
- If prompted, type the Sharing Key (top right corner of Zoom Room screen). Tap OK.
- If you don't see a Sharing Key because the Zoom Room screen is off: on the iPad controller, tap Share Content to display the Sharing Key. If there is no iPad controller, the Zoom Room is a touchscreen: tap anywhere on the screen to wake it up.
- Tap Start Broadcast.
- The screenshare begins. Tap the home button or swipe up to return to your Home screen, and then choose the app you want to share.
- Once you are done sharing, return to the Zoom app (go to your Home screen and tap Zoom).
- Tap Stop Share.
- Tap Stop Broadcast.

Quick guide
On your iPad/iPhone:
- Mute your device speaker to avoid audio feedback.
- Open the Zoom app.
- You must be in a Zoom meeting with the Zoom Room:
- If the Zoom Room is already in a meeting: Tap Join and type the meeting ID.
- If the Zoom Room is not already in a meeting: Tap New Meeting, then tap Start a Meeting. Then, have the Zoom Room join the same meeting.
- Mute your microphone to avoid audio feedback.
- Tap More and select Whiteboards - New from the dropdown.
