Overview
Sometimes, requests placed on the DTS support website portal require approval to move forward. For instance, you may receive an approval request if you are a department senior administrator and an employee is requesting a new student worker, a mobile phone, or access to departmental folders on the Dornsife network drives.
You can approve these requests either within the approval request email or directly on the DTS support website.
Approving Freshservice requests via email
When a request is initiated, you receive an email with further details. We recommend clicking the approval/request link within the email to view full request details, but you can also click Approve or Reject directly within the email.
When you click Approve or Reject, a new email message opens. If you are approving the request, you can simply click Send. If you are rejecting the request, you must type a reason in the first line of the email before you click Send.
Viewing and approving Freshservice requests on the DTS website portal
You can view requests directly on the website:
- Go to https://dtssupport.usc.edu and click Approve Requests (you may have to scroll down the page).
- If prompted, sign in using your USC NetID and passphrase, and complete Duo authentication.
- The "My Pending Approvals" page loads. Click the request.
- To view additional details, click More info. The Reject and Approve buttons are in the top right of the page.
