Overview
Your USC devices often contain sensitive information and confidential data. To protect this information, USC requires the installation and use of SentinelOne endpoint security software on all USC computers, including Dornsife-managed Windows, Macs, and Linux machines.
SentinelOne Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) operates in the background, and it protects your computer from a slew of possible attacks, including malware, exploits, live attacks, and script-based attacks. SentinelOne detects the presence of malware or other security risks, and acts to remove them and prevent their spread.
Accessing SentinelOne
SentinelOne is automatically installed on all Dornsife-managed computers. When SentinelOne detects a threat, it takes action automatically to protect your computer. To open SentinelOne:
-
Windows: Click the SentinelOne icon in your system tray (if you do not see it, click the Expand icon)
-
Macs: Click the SentinelOne icon in your menu bar
Once SentinelOne is open, use the left menu to navigate. You can select Threat History or Quarantined Files to view past actions taken by SentinelOne.
If you believe that a legitimate file has been quarantined, or you have any questions about the SentinelOne interface, you can contact DTS at ts@dornsife.usc.edu.
