Overview
In addition to using Outlook calendar for your individual calendar, you can set up a shared calendar. The calendar can be shared with anyone at USC, and the following levels of access are available:
- View-only access: Busy/free only
- View-only access: Titles and locations of calendar events
- View-only access: All calendar event details
- Edit access: All calendar event details, with the ability to add, edit, and remove events
Below, we provide instructions for creating a shared calendar using Outlook on the web, but you can also access shared calendars in the Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac applications.
Creating a shared calendar in Outlook on the web
Quick guide
- Go to https://usc.edu/office365 and sign in with your USC email address.
- In the left sidebar, click the Calendar
icon.
- Click Add calendar.
- In the left menu, click Create blank calendar.
- Fill out the form and click Save.
- The calendar is created. Close the window to return to Outlook calendar.
- Hover over the calendar name. Click the … icon and select Sharing and permissions.
- Type and select the email address of the person you want to add.
- Click Can view all details to select the level of access, and click Share.
- The person will receive an email invitation to the calendar, and can add the calendar by clicking Accept.
- (Optional) You can add more people to the calendar.
