Overview
DTS is updating the names of older network printers located in the Dr. Joseph Medicine Crow Center for International and Public Affairs (DMC). If you previously installed a VKC or CPA printer: after August 12, please follow the steps below to re-add the printer to your computer with its new DMC name.
You do not need to remove the old printer name: this will occur automatically after August 12. You also do not need to take action for any printers that already have DMC in their name.
What is the new name of my network printer?
After August 12, the new DMC printer name will automatically appear in the list of printers available for installation. For reference, see the list below:

Reinstalling a DMC printer on a Windows PC
- Make sure your computer is connected to Ethernet or USC Secure Wireless. Do not use USC Guest Wireless.
- In the system tray (lower right on the desktop), click the PaperCut
icon and select View my printers.
- Don't see this icon? Click the Expand
icon to see all icons.
- If prompted, type the following credentials and sign in:
- Username: Your USC NetID@dts.usc.edu (for example, ttrojan@dts.usc.edu)
- Password: Your USC NetID passphrase
- Click Add printers. Then, click Install next to the printer.
- The printer installs in seconds. Open and print any document to confirm that the printer was successfully reinstalled.
Reinstalling a DMC printer on a Mac
- Make sure your computer is connected to Ethernet or USC Secure Wireless. Do not use USC Guest Wireless.
- In the menu bar (upper right on the desktop), click the PaperCut icon and select View my printers.
- If prompted, type the following credentials and sign in:
- Username: Your USC NetID@dts.usc.edu (for example, ttrojan@dts.usc.edu)
- Password: Your USC NetID passphrase
- Click Add printers. Then, click Install next to the printer.
- (Optional) If you are using the search bar to find your printer, be aware that on Macs, the printer names use underscores instead of spaces. For example, if you are looking for a printer located in DMC 213, search for dmc_213, not dmc 213.
- The printer installs in seconds. Open and print any document to confirm that the printer was successfully reinstalled.
Troubleshooting
Don't see the DMC printer?
If the printer does not appear in the list, click Refresh at the top:
VKC/CPA printer still installed?
The old printer name should automatically be removed after August 12. However, if you find that it still appears in your printer list after this date, you can manually uninstall it by clicking the Trash 
icon:
