Overview
USC faculty, staff, and students are issued a unique USC NetID to use for signing into USC-wide applications and services such as Outlook, Workday, Brightspace, Zoom, and Slack.
In addition to the USC NetID assigned by ITS, Dornsife individuals can request a Dornsife Account to access Dornsife-specific IT services supported by DTS.
Below, we review the differences between a USC NetID and a Dornsife Account.
USC NetID
Your USC NetID is issued to you by USC's Information Technology Services (ITS). You can activate your NetID or make password changes on the ITS NetID page:
USC services and applications you can access using your NetID include:
You also access the following Dornsife services using your NetID:
Dornsife Account
Dornsife Accounts are issued by Dornsife Technology Services (DTS) and grant access to the following Dornsife-specific IT resources:
- Dornsife-managed computers
- Dornsife network drives
- Dornsife network printers
To request a Dornsife Account, please fill out and submit the New Dornsife Account form online. You can check with your departmental administrator if you are unsure which departmental drives/folders or network printers you need to request access to.
Once we process your request, you will receive a confirmation email about your new Dornsife Account. Your Dornsife Account syncs with your USC NetID, so you only ever have to remember one username and password.
