Overview
When creating new pages for your Dornsife website, you can duplicate an existing page or draft rather than starting from a blank page. To do so, use the Clone or New Draft feature.
Duplicating a page in order to update it?
When you want to edit a published page but don't want site visitors to see those changes yet, use the Rewrite & Republish feature instead of Clone or New Draft:
Duplicating a page from the page list
- In the left menu, click Pages.

- Hover over a page title, and select Clone or New Draft.
-
Clone will duplicate the page without opening it while New Draft will automatically open the duplicated page in the editor. Otherwise, both options perform the same function: duplicating the original page.

- WordPress duplicates the page as a new draft. Make sure that you update the page title and URL (aka slug or permalink), as these are also copied from the original page.
Duplicating a page from the editor
You can duplicate a page you already have open in the editor by selecting Copy to a new draft. This option looks slightly different depending on the editor appearance:

A new draft page is created, and you can begin making edits. Make sure that you update the page title and URL (aka slug or permalink), as these are also copied from the original page.
Duplicating a page from the published view
If you are viewing the page on the published website, select Duplicate Post in the upper toolbar, and then select Copy to a new draft.
