If you are instead using AirPrint (macOS and iOS feature), be aware that there is a known error which occurs on Macs running Sequoia (macOS 15). This guide explains what this error looks like and how to bypass it, as well as what to do if AirPrint still fails.
AirPrint error causing application crash
What this error looks like
On Macs that are running Sequoia, selecting a USC printer using AirPrint can cause the application that you're printing from to crash. This occurs with printers managed by any USC school or unit, including Dornsife-managed printers.
How to bypass this error
If you experience this crash, restart the application and try to print again. This time, the printer will appear at the top of the printer list if you open the printer list again. You can now send your file to print. After the initial crash, the application will not crash again for this specific printer.
However, if you select another USC printer that you have not printed to before using AirPrint, this error will again crash the application and force you to restart.
How to avoid this error
To avoid experiencing this issue, DTS recommends using PaperCut to install and print from Dornsife-managed printers:
