Overview
You can print from your computer to your department's designated on-campus wireless printers—more commonly known as Dornsife network printers. Web Print makes it even easier by allowing you to print from any computer, whether or not you've added (installed) the printer on the computer beforehand.
Using Web Print to print
Before you begin, make sure that:
- The printer is on and isn't displaying an error message
- You have permission to print to the printer
- Your computer is connected to the Internet via either Ethernet or USC Secure Wireless (do not use USC Guest Wireless)
Requesting printer access:
If you have not been granted access to a particular network printer and you qualify for access (e.g. the printer belongs to your department), please submit the applicable form.
If you are unable to log into https://dtsprint.dts.usc.edu at all:

Troubleshooting
If you experience issues following any of the steps above for using Web Print, the troubleshooting steps below can help narrow down whether the issue is with your account or the printer itself.
Account login error
What this error looks like: You are unable to log in to Web Print at https://dtsprint.dts.usc.edu using your USC NetID and passphrase. Instead, you receive the "Invalid username or password" message.
Solution 1 (if you have never printed to any Dornsife network printer before)
You likely don't have a Dornsife Account, which is required for Dornsife network printer access. Please request a Dornsife Account at the following link:
Solution 2 (if you have printed successfully to Dornsife network printers before)
Typically this occurs if your Dornsife Account was locked out recently due to too many incorrect password attempts. Your Dornsife Account automatically unlocks after thirty minutes, but you can request to have it unlocked on the spot by starting a chat with us (red droplet-shaped icon in the bottom right corner of this page).
Once we unlock your Dornsife Account, try printing directly from your computer.
If you want the ability to unlock your own account on the spot in the future, follow our guide on enrolling in the Password Administration Portal:
Account permissions error
What this error looks like: You are able to log in to Web Print at https://dtsprint.dts.usc.edu and can see a list of available printers, but the specific printer you need isn't on this list.
Solution 1 (permissions needed; more common)
Your Dornsife Account doesn't have permission to use this printer. Please request access at the following link:
Be sure to specify which printer you need access to, and DTS will update your account permissions after verification.
Solution 2 (local printer; less common)
The printer you want isn't a network printer but rather a local printer, in which case you need to use a physical cable to connect your computer to the printer.
Printer-related error
What this error looks like: You are able to use Web Print to get as far as uploading your files, but the printer doesn't actually print your files.
Solution: Try turning off the printer, waiting 30 seconds, and turning it back on again. If after doing this, you follow the steps above for Web Print and the printer still doesn't print, please get in touch with us directly (the error is likely hardware-related):
Computer-related error
What this error looks like: You are able to print files when using the Web Print instructions above, but are otherwise unable to print directly from your computer.
