Overview
This guide provides instructions for connecting to your department or work group's network drive(s) from a Dornsife-managed computer.
A note about personal computers
If you are a Dornsife faculty or staff member who is using a personal computer, to mitigate security risks we recommend following our remote desktop guide. Once remote desktop is connected, you can connect to network drives:

Quick guide
- Make sure you're connected to the USC network:

On campus: Connect via either Ethernet or USC Secure Wireless. (Do not use USC Guest Wireless.)

Off campus: Connect via VPN.
- At the top of your screen, click on Go > Connect to Server…
- Look up your department's server address below:

- Copy and paste your department's folder address into the Server Address field, and click on Connect.
- Log in with your USC NetID credentials and click on Connect.

Name: Your USC NetID (You may have to delete the default name that your Mac inserts)
- Example: If your email address is ttrojan@usc.edu, type ttrojan

Password: Your USC NetID passphrase
- When you open Finder, your department's network drive will now show up. You can also open it by going to the left-hand panel in Finder, and clicking on the drive's name under Shared. You're all set!
- Note that you can only access your own departmental folder; other departments' folders will display a red minus [-] icon.

- On the top of your screen, click on Go and select Connect to Server… from the menu.
- Look up your department's server address in the table below:
