ACB 238: Available equipment

Videoconferencing and presentation equipment

The following controllers and equipment are located on the lectern:

Crestron panel used to control the following:
- Left and right projectors and projection screens
- Confidence monitor (digital screen at the back of classroom facing the lectern)
- Mic array, microphones, and speakers
Zoom iPad controller for Zoom Room/Zoom meeting controls
Multiport adapter (HDMI, USB-C, and Mini DisplayPort)
Document camera (mounted inside the right side of the lectern)

There are also manual wall controls beside the lectern that can be used to lower/raise the left and right projector screens.

Before the meeting, make sure to schedule the Zoom Room:

Holding a Zoom meeting

If you need to share content (e.g. PowerPoint presentations, videoclips), make sure to bring a laptop.

Hold a scheduled Zoom meeting with content sharing

Quick guide

Step 1: Set up the room to use Zoom

On the Crestron panel, tap on Start.
Beside "STEP 1," tap on Zoom.
Beside "STEP 2," tap on each screen you wish to use for display. Our default recommendation is to tap and select all options (Lt Projector, Rt Projector, Confidence, and Speakers).

Step 2: Connect to the Zoom meeting

On the Zoom iPad controller, tap on a meeting to select it.
Tap on Start.
ACB 238 starts the Zoom meeting as a host. The camera, mic, and speakers automatically turn on.

Step 3: Share content from your computer

On the Zoom iPad controller, tap on Share Screen.
On your laptop, open the Zoom app. Instead of joining the Zoom meeting, click on Share Screen.
If Zoom requests a Sharing Key, type the Sharing Key (displayed on the Zoom iPad controller). Click on Share Screen.
For audio content, use the volume control on your laptop or on the iPad controller to control the volume.
To stop sharing, click on Stop Share (located at the top of the screen on your computer).

For audio content, use the volume control on your laptop or the Zoom iPad controller to control the volume.

Hold a scheduled Zoom meeting without content sharing

If you are not sharing any files, you don't need to bring a laptop.

Input the Zoom meeting ID and tap on Join. Input the meeting password if prompted.

If you want to create a new Zoom meeting on the spot:

On the Zoom iPad controller, tap on New Meeting.

- Note that with this method, any recordings or statistics will be saved to the room's Zoom account and not your individual Zoom account. The meeting recordings and statistics will have to be obtained from ITS afterward.

Holding a non-Zoom meeting

If your meeting will be entirely in-person and you do not need to record it to the cloud, you can either use the Zoom app for its Share Screen feature or connect your computer directly to the room via cable.

If you need to share content (e.g. PowerPoint presentations, videoclips), you will need to bring a laptop.

Share your computer screen via cable

You can connect your laptop directly to the Zoom Room by plugging it into the Belkin multiport adapter on the lectern. You do not have to press any buttons: your laptop will automatically be detected once you plug it in. If your laptop connection isn't being recognized, simply hold the "reset" button on the side of the Belkin multiport adapter for 5 seconds.

For audio content, use the volume control on your laptop or the Zoom iPad controller to control the volume.
