Overview
This list is divided into software for which DTS manages licenses, and campus-wide software for which ITS manages licenses and access.
For any questions, you can submit a ticket to our Help Desk or start a chat with us (red droplet-shaped icon in the bottom right corner of this page).
We also welcome input and suggestions: for example, if you've been hearing about helpful instructional software in use elsewhere which you feel will improve the remote teaching experience, let us know and we can look into the particular software's features and licensing.
For information about hardware, please review our guide, "Hardware at USC Dornsife."
Requesting additional software
If you wish to purchase software not listed below, you can make a request through our service catalog. You can use this link to request software that you want to download as well as online apps that require paid subscriptions:
Dornsife-specific software
Within Dornsife, DTS manages licenses for the following software and applications. Our Help Desk can assist you with setup, installation, and in some cases basic troubleshooting. Keep in mind that for questions requiring subject-matter expertise in the software, we may refer you to the vendor directly.
Our Media Services team can also assist you with production services such as course capture/recording, video/audio material production, and Zoom Webinars. You can submit a service request to us online.
Some of the software listed below (e.g. MATLAB, SPSS) overlap with ITS-provided software. If you are using a Dornsife-managed PC or Mac, we do recommend downloading such applications through DTS via Software Center (for PC) and the Meraki Self Service Portal (for Mac) rather than using ITS-provided links.

Cloud Apps at USC
In addition to the downloadable software listed above, ITS offers Cloud Apps, a service which allows all USC faculty, staff, and students to access USC-licensed software packages by means of a virtual desktop interface. As long as you have an Internet connection, Cloud Apps is a convenient way to access applications that you don't heavily use and thus may not necessarily want to purchase an individual license for.
To download VMWare Horizon Client and access the software below, please see the ITS guide, "Cloudapps.usc.edu (VDI)."
